Match visits a huge success...
Twelve junior teams enjoyed match visits to the Banks’s Stadium for our recent home games against Chesterfield and Burton.The junior teams work with Walsall FC’s Community Programme Officers to enjoy a packed day of sporting entertainment.
A matchday package includes:
- An hour and a half coaching session on the Banks’ Stadium AstroTurf pitch
- A team photograph inside the stadium
- Tickets for the first-team match
- A signed football
Scott Sumner, Walsall’s Community Officer and Junior Team Liaison Officer, said: “Our matchday packages for junior teams are hugely successful.
“Everyone leaves happy, especially this season with the first-team doing well, and many teams have come back and done the visit again.
“The visits are for junior teams but we’ve also done it for schools teams and school visits, as well as family learning days.
“We’ve also used it as a reward system for kids at school or disadvantaged kids who don’t always get the opportunity.
“On average, each team brings between 12 to 16 players, with at least 15 adults stopping to watch the game.
“In the last two weeks we’ve added an extra 250 tickets onto the game just by these match visits.”
