Victories for Murphy and Roberts...
JORDAN MURPHY – KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERSTalented forward Jordan Murphy created Kidderminster’s opening goal in their 2-0 victory over mid-table Aldershot in the National League.
Harriers went ahead on 53 minutes when James McQuilkin coolly converted Murphy’s accurate low cross from close range.
Ben Whitfied doubled their lead seven minutes later, riding two challenges before rifling an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
It was only Kidderminster’s second win in 21 league matches this season, leaving them six points from safety in 23rd position.
Murphy, who scored Harriers’ winner against Woking last month, has now made six loan appearances for the Aggborough club.
LIAM ROBERTS – RUGBY TOWN
Promising goalkeeper Liam Roberts played the full 90 minutes of Rugby’s 2-1 victory over Newcastle Town in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South.
Rugby dominated the first-half and led 2-0 at the break, courtesy of Callum Powell’s deflected volley and Kevin Thornton’s powerful penalty.
Kyle Blake poked home to give Newcastle hope with 19 minutes remaining, but the hosts held on for their fourth league victory of the campaign.
The result lifted Town up to 19th in the division, with 16 points from as many matches.
