CAPTAIN READY TO STEER SADDLERS THROUGH BUSY WINTER

17 November 2015

Chambers on hectic winter schedule...

Skipper Adam Chambers insists there’s enough quality and depth in the squad to deal with a hectic winter schedule.

With the festive period around the corner, Dean Smith’s side are set to face another gruelling fixture list and the 34-year old captain thinks squad rotation will be crucial.

“The November-December schedule is always very busy,” Chambers explained.

“It’s a challenging period where you can find yourself either shooting up the league or dropping down a few places.

“There are so many games in such a short place of time but we’ve got a good group this year.

“Our squad has a lot of depth and we know when someone comes on they are sharp and ready to go.

“There’s a lot of hard work ahead and we’re not getting carried away. We do a lot of work on the training ground and in our pre match briefings to ensure we are as best prepared for match day as possible.

“It’s all about putting in the hard work and maintaining our confidence in what we’re doing and the belief that we have in each other.”

“The gaffer’s changed the team for tactical reasons or injuries and you can see that the players who come in to the team are really contributing to the team this year.

“We believe we can get through the winter period in a good manner and hopefully pick up a lot of points.”

And the skipper is pleased to help the team do well.

“I’m really enjoying my football at the moment," said Chambers.

"It’s a really good group to be involved in with some good players and good lads here.

“I’m just happy to contribute to the team, as long as I do that I’ll be happy.”
