NEW DEAL FOR BAKAYOKO

14 May 2015

Emerging front-man pens new contract...

THE SADDLERS have agreed a new deal with emerging front-man, Amadou Bakayoko.

The powerful 19 year-old continued his development during 2014/15 with a handful of appearances off the substitutes’ bench as well as a loan spell with Vanarama Conference outfit, Southport.

“I’m happy to have signed this new contract,” said the youth team product who signed his first professional deal during the course of 2013/14. “I can’t wait for pre-season to start now so that I can get back down to work and show what I can do.

“It benefitted me to go out on loan last season; to play regular, competitive first-team football certainly helped in my development and I only have to look at the progress that Kieron Morris has made to act as motivation.

“I want to be playing regularly and scoring goals. I know that it will require plenty of hard work and determination, but we have these qualities amongst the squad here and I know that my own development will continue in this environment.”

Bakayoko was born in Sierra Leone, but grew up in Holland. He was spotted by The Saddlers and brought into our youth team, where he became a regular on the scoresheet.

Having continued to impress at reserve team level, he was handed his senior debut at Port Vale in April 2014.
