KINSELLA SIGNS TWO-YEAR DEAL

22 May 2015

Exciting talent signs new contract...

HIGHLY-rated starlet, Liam Kinsella, has become the latest player to commit himself to the club after the 19 year-old put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal.

The talented teenager signed his first professional contract last summer and burst onto the scene at the start of 2014/15 with some impressive displays that really marked him out as one to watch in the future.

His development has continued and Republic of Ireland Under-19 recognition followed earlier this year.

“Liam is an exceptional talent,” said manager, Dean Smith, without hesitation. “Like Rico Henry, I can see him really pushing on and becoming some player.

“He has energy and enthusiasm is abundance; he was given a taste of first-team action and did extremely well.

“Even though he was playing in his less favoured position of right-back rather than midfield, he let no-one down and even put in some Man of the Match performances.

“I am looking forward to his development and I am delighted that he has signed this two-year deal with the club.”

Kinsella added: “I’m over the moon. I can’t wait for pre-season to start now so that I can work hard and crack on.

“I loved every minute of it last season and want to get more games under my belt during the season ahead.

“This is a great club for young players to be at because you know that your chance will come if you work hard enough.

“We’ve got a lot of youngsters here and hopefully a few of us will break through and establish ourselves in the team.

“Now I’ve had a taste of it, I want more! I don’t mind where I play; I was used at right-back last season but came through as a midfielder, so I have that versatility and a willingness to work hard.

“Our aim for the new season has to be to get into the play-offs and I feel that we are more than capable of achieving that.”
