BRADSHAW ON PROLIFIC SEASON

12 May 2015

Leading scorer in upbeat mood...

WITH the dust now starting to settle on our 2014/15 campaign, leading scorer, Tom Bradshaw, has reflected upon the most prolific season of his career so far and predicted the progress to continue for the club.

“The season for me personally has been very good,” said the 22 year-old who came runner-up in the Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season awards. “Yes, there have been a few set-backs along the way, but I am over the moon to reach 20 goals in 37 games.

“Of course, as a team we were disappointed to finish in 14th; but we’ve shown enough positives to be confident that with a few minor tweaks, we can be serious play-off contenders next season.”

Bradshaw made the switch from Shrewsbury Town last summer and has become a popular figure both on and off-the-field.

“From day one I was made to feel at home here,” he continued. “It was easy to settle and that has played a big part in me reaching 20 goals for the season.

“To reach that figure is a good season for any striker and my objective now is to help us achieve more success and really kick-on from here.

“I must say that the fans have been great. They have supported me throughout the season and that belief means a lot to me.

“I am pleased that I was able to repay them in goals.”

So what does Bradshaw have planned for the summer break?

“There are no major plans for this year,” he went on. “I’ll be going away for the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of this month and also have a week in Greece coming up, so that will be nice.

“It’ll be good to get a few weeks of rest before being ready to go again. I’ll be following my maintenance programme and also coming in for extra sessions with Jon Whitney.”
