WEMBLEY: GRIMES STAKES HIS CLAIM

18 March 2015

Front-man makes his mark...

ASHLEY Grimes made an instant impact having entered the action against Sheffield United with just over 20 minutes to go.

The 28 year-old grabbed the equaliser for his second goal of the season just moments after coming off the bench and almost notched a second straight away when his curling effort came back off the inside of the post.

"Every time I get onto the pitch I want to impress, regardless of what the next game is," he said. "Obviously Sunday is going to be a massive occasion for everyone and hopefully I will play some part in it.

"It's always nice to get on the scoresheet and I was delighted to be able to make an instant impact.  Once the equaliser went in, I thought we would go on and win and I was about to celebrate a second soon after, but it wasn't to be.

"We've shown what we are capable of in these past two games against two of the better sides in this League. It's been two positive performances, and even though we felt we should have had more points, we go into Sunday's game in good shape.

"We're looking to kick on now; it will be a great day at Wembley and we're going there to win but at the same time enjoy the occasion.

"We've come this far and have a determination to bring the trophy home for the fans."
