Popular 'keeper ready for 'great occasion'...

POPULAR goalkeeper, Richard O’Donnell, is ready for the biggest weekend of his career so far.

The ever-present custodian was in upbeat mood as he spoke before boarding the team coach to the Capital.

“It’s an exciting time for everyone associated with the club,” he said. “I’m looking forward to the whole weekend; it’s going to be a great occasion to be part of.

“We’ve had 11 games since we got to Wembley, so we’ve had a lot to occupy our minds, but since Wednesday we’ve been fully focussed on the Final.

“Bristol City are clear at the top of the table, and rightly so, but there wasn’t too much between the two teams when we faced each other earlier in the season.

“If we are on our game, they have every reason to be as worried about us. We’ve got a lively group of lads here; there’s always been a good vibe around the place and it’s going to be a real team effort.

“Personally I will try to keep my routine as normal as possible, but at the same time I know that it’s something special. To step out at Wembley in a Cup Final in front of over 70,000 people is something to be cherished.

“It’s going to be a great day. We’re going there to win it, of course, and hopefully we will give our fans plenty to cheer about.

“The amount of tickets that we have sold is fantastic and we thank everyone who will be travelling to cheer us on.”
