Boss assesses our 1-1 draw with Sheffield United...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith, has assessed our 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.

"We should have won," he said. "We were the main aggressors for the most part of the game and had enough chances to put the game to bed; we hit the post and the bar.

"We were very good today against a good team. I wasn't too displeased with the start we made, but their goal set us back a bit until the last 15 minutes or so of the first half when we started to get back into it again.

"I was pleased with our patience on the ball and the way we moved it and got crosses in. It's a credit to the players that they showed tremendous professionalism and put the effort in.

"It would have been easy to have had one eye on Wembley, but the lads gave everything.

"These last two games have given us some momentum even if we haven't got as many points from them as we have deserved. To dominate a team like Sheffield United has given us a real boost and we look forward to our next game now.

"We're back to being hard to beat, which will stand us in good stead."

Tom Bradshaw (hamstring) and Andy Taylor (calf) were both rested as a precaution. They have both had a scan but we are hopeful that they will be available for Sunday's big game at Wembley.
