SADDLERS HEAD FOR THE HILLS

16 July 2015

Wales weekend for Saddlers' squad...

THE SADDLERS spent a team bonding and activity weekend in Wales.

It was an opportunity for the squad to get together and take part in a range of different challenges designed to help in our preparations for the new season.

"It was a really worthwhile trip," said manager, Dean Smith. "The lads were out on runs at 6.00am in the morning... some of them didn't realise there were two six o'clocks each day!

"These kind of things get the players out of their comfort zones and it helps us to understand their character.

"It also gets them to understand each other and drive each other on in a different environment. We benefitted greatly from the trip, it was an enjoyable experience and an important part of our pre-season preparations."

For summer signing, Jason Demetriou, it was an ideal opportunity to get to know his new team-mates.

"The trip was brilliant," he added. "For someone new like me it was a great chance to really get to know the lads.

"It was a good laugh but also hard work at the same time. There's a good group of lads here and they have made me feel really welcome.

"I am buzzing to be here and can't wait for the games to come thick and fast."
