TEAM TALK v COVENTRY, 3/1/15

2 January 2015

Boss ready for 2015!

WE GET 2015 underway with the visit of Coventry City. It's a local derby and a game that we are looking forward to as we aim to get back into winning ways on home soil following the disappointment on Boxing Day.

There is no doubt that Coventry have some good players in their side and we are well aware of the threats that they possess. They have been through a lot off-the-pitch, but Steven Pressley has made them a hard team to beat, as we found at their place at the end of November.

We go into the game with a fully fit squad to choose from, with the exception of Sam Mantom, although the news on him is encouraging. His brace is off now and he will spend the next ten days or so working with Jon Whitney before he returns to training with the rest of the group.

We're approaching the fourth anniversary of me taking over at the helm and things have certainly progressed since then. I am grateful that I have been given the time to build something here and have that stability to be able to take things forward.

It's important that we are competitive whilst never losing sight of what we want to achieve; we care deeply about what we are doing here and have stuck to our beliefs.

The key thing is not to get too high after victories or too low in defeat. We have created a productive and happy environment here and it is serving us well.

Our injury problems at the start of the current campaign were well-documented, but we have backed up our performances with results recently and the progression for us now is to start pushing for the play-offs.

Happy New Year to all of our supporters. Thank you for the backing that you have given us throughout 2014... I look forward to more of the same during the course of the year ahead.
