Reliable full-back ready for Vale test...

THE SADDLERS are back on home soil for the second time this week as we play host to Staffordshire rivals, Port Vale, on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

Victory in our last game here, against Rochdale on Tuesday evening, thrust us into the top ten, just two points off the play-off places, and now we aim to make it three wins in a row with the visit of The Valiants.

“This is such a tight League that a few wins can shoot you right up the table,” said reliable full-back, Andy Taylor. “We’ve won the last two and need to find that level of consistency now.

“There are a lot of games still to be played and a lot of points up for grabs. If we can get on a run, there is no reason why we can’t be up there challenging.

“At this stage of the season, momentum is massive. We want to get into that winning habit and performances are going to be key to getting the results.”

Our latest challenge comes in the form of Port Vale, with whom we shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw on the opening day of the season.

“That game feels like an age ago now,” added Taylor. “They are a strong and physical side who will make life difficult for us, but we go into the game full of confidence.

“We are determined to carry on from where we have left off in recent games. We did well at Doncaster last weekend and then put in an impressive first half showing in our last game.

“It’s been a case of working hard in preparation for the game so that we can continue to add to our points tally.”
