Boss on victory at Doncaster...
SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, has hailed another away day success after we came away from Doncaster with a 2-0 victory.
“The lads put in plenty of hard work today,” he said. “We had to defend a lot of balls into the box and whilst some of our play was a little loose at times, we broke at pace and scored two good goals.
“To come away and get another clean sheet is also very pleasing. This is a difficult place to come to, but we ran out worthy winners in the end.
“It’s important now that we get back into winning ways at home; the performances have been good but we have to turn them into points.
“There is plenty of good competition for places now, and that can only help us. We’ve got a lot of games coming up in a short space of time and it’s a real chance for us to get into a run of results.”
There was a debut goal for loanee, Jordy Hiwula, who headed home less than five minutes after entering the action.
“Jordy did well,” he added. “His first three touches were fantastic and I am really pleased for him.
“He looked bright and this will give him a big boost to take into the next game.”
