City hot-shot joins on loan...THE SADDLERS have completed the signing of rising Manchester City star, Jordy Hiwula on an initial one-month youth loan, subject to the necessary clearance being received.
The 20 year-old striker has been a regular on the scoresheet for the City Academy team in recent years, with his pace and skill on the ball marking him out as one to watch in the future.
Born in Manchester, he has been capped by England at Under-18 and 19 levels and had a spell out on loan at Yeovil Town earlier this season where he got his first taste of senior, competitive action.
“Jordy is a player that I have been tracking for a while," admitted manager, Dean Smith. "I saw him last season for City's Under-21s and he did really well, so he is someone I marked down as one to watch.
"He's since been on loan at Yeovil and all the scouting reports we have on their matches highlight him as a player with real potential.
"He played against us recently in a behind-closed-doors game and did really well, so I am delighted to be able to bring him here.
"I like to get players on their second loan and feel that Jordy will come here and improve us. He will give us a threat in behind and can play down the middle or out wide.
"His preferred position is as a 'number nine', and with his pace and trickery, we have an exciting, young talent on our hands."
