New-boy can't wait to get started...
NEW-BOY, Jordy Hiwula, met his Saddlers' team-mates for the first time on Thursday as he took part in his first training session since completing a loan switch from Manchester City. The talented front-man has been a regular in Patrick Vieira's Under-21 side at City but admits that he is looking forward to playing competitive football again following a loan spell at Yeovil Town earlier in the season.
"I've had a taste of playing at this level before and it's a good standard," he said. "This move gives me another chance to progress and develop in a competitive environment, which can only help me.
"I know that Walsall like to play good football and I also know that the club have been watching me for a while, so it's nice to come here and hopefully I can help the club move up the table and give a good account of myself.
"I've been playing for the Under-21s at City for a few years now. Patrick Vieira is a great coach and all the lads, even those in the first-team, respect him and his opinions. He's really helped me and now I want to make the step up and show people what I can do.
"I'm very happy to come here and I'm looking forward to my first game at Doncaster this weekend. They are a good side, so it will be a decent first test for me."
