Front-man opens scoring account...
ASHLEY Grimes' first goal of the season saw us share the spoils with Gillingham on Sunday evening. The summer signing seized upon some defensive hesitation to equalise just five minutes after our visitors had taken the lead.
"I'm made up to finally break my duck," said the former Manchester City youngster. "It's been a long time coming; I needed that break and it was nice to see the ball hit the back of the net.
"It was disappointing that we couldn't go on and win the game. We were the better side in the first half and then after we equalised, I felt that we would go on and get the three points.
"A few months ago we would have probably lost that game, but the lads dug in to pick up a point, which could prove valuable come the end of the season."
Grimes entered the action to replace leading scorer, Tom Bradshaw, who was forced off with a sore hamstring, which is currently being assessed.
"The hope is that Tom will be okay," added Grimes. "He's a good kid who's had a fantastic season, so hopefully the problem won't be too serious.
"If it is, I have to be ready to take my chance. I've never lost that belief in myself and now I've got that first goal out of the way, it would be nice to go on a run."
