The Saddlers have not played Millwall since 2010...

2009/10 SEASON

6th March 2010 – Walsall 2-2 Millwall – League One
Alan Dunne scored a stoppage-time equaliser as play-off chasing Millwall fought back from two goals down to draw. Alex Nicholls’ cross-shot and Richard Taundry’s rising drive gave the Saddlers a 2-0 lead after 27 minutes. Steve Morison pounced on a Rene Gilmartin error to halve the deficit, and after Walsall’s Matt Richards was sent off, Dunne fired home a late leveller.
Saddlers team:Gilmartin, Weston (Westlake 46’), McDonald, Taundry, O’Keefe, Vincent, Richards, Gray, Jones (Hughes 77’), Deeney, Nicholls (Byfield 88’).
Subs not used: Ince, Sansara, Bradley, Grigg.


12th December 2009 - Millwall 2-1 Walsall – League One
A second-half brace from Steve Morison gave Millwall victory. Walsall came racing out of the blocks, with Manny Smith volleying home an eighth-minute opener from Peter Till’s corner. But the Lions came roaring back and equalised on 59 minutes, Morison finishing confidently from Ashley Grimes’ pass. And the in-form striker curled home Millwall’s winner 14 minutes from time, after being set clear by Jason Price.
Saddlers team: Ince, Weston, Sansara (Vincent 75’), Hughes, Smith, Bradley, Mattis, Till (Nicholls 78’), Richards, Parkin, Byfield.
Subs not used: Gilmartin, McDonald, Taundry, O’Keefe, Grigg.



2008/09 SEASON

4th April 2009 – Millwall 3-1 Walsall – League One
Millwall bolstered their automatic promotion chances with this comfortable win. Jason Price’s close-range finish put the hosts ahead but Jabo Ibehre equalised with a low shot from 15 yards. Gary Alexander restored the Lions’ lead on the cusp of half-time, and he then added a third goal nine minutes after the break.
Saddlers team: Gilmartin, Smith (Ricketts 71’), Weston, Gerrard, Palmer, Hughes, Taundry, Mattis, Deeney, Ibehre, Nicholls.
Subs not used: Belshaw, Bacchus, Craddock, Davies.


13th December 2008 – Walsall 1-2 Millwall – League One
Andy Frampton’s last-minute header condemned Walsall to a dramatic defeat. The visitors struck first, with Neil Harris – the current Millwall manager – firing home from a tight angle to equal Teddy Sheringham’s club record of 111 goals. Alex Nicholls’ volley drew Walsall level but the Lions snatched victory a minute from time, Frampton heading in following a goalmouth scramble.
Saddlers team:Ince, Weston, Sansara (Boertien 79’), Gerrard, Bradley (Taundry 74’), Palmer, Hughes (Mattis 46’), Deeney, Ricketts, Nicholls, Ibehre.

2007/08 SEASON

15th January 2008 – Millwall 2-1 Walsall – FA Cup Third Round Replay
The Saddlers were knocked out of the FA Cup after suffering their first defeat in 19 competitive matches. Ben May fired the Lions in front on 15 minutes and Gary Alexander’s cool finish extended their advantage. A volley from Alex Nicholls reduced the arrears but Millwall held on to reach round four, where they lost to Coventry.
Saddlers team:Ince, Weston, Gerrard, Dann, Bradley (Boertien 68’), Wrack (Dobson 65’), Taundry, Demontagnac (Brittain 70’), Sonko, Deeney, Nicholls.
Subs not used: Roper, McDermott.


5th January 2008 – Walsall 0-0 Millwall – FA Cup Third Round
Millwall produced a stubborn rearguard action to deny injury-hit Walsall a place in the FA Cup fourth round. The Lions’ best chance came on ten minutes, when Jay Simpson’s blistering drive was tipped over by Saddlers stopper Clayton Ince. Walsall dominated thereafter, with Troy Deeney dragging narrowly wide late on after good work from Rhys Weston.
Saddlers team:Ince, Roper, Weston, Dann, Bradley, Fox, Wrack, Demontagnac (Sonko 75’), Ricketts (Brittain 36’), Nicholls, Deeney.
Subs not used: Bossu, Hall, Taundry.


22nd December 2007 – Walsall 3-0 Millwall – League One
Tommy Mooney scored twice as the in-form Saddlers climbed to sixth after this comprehensive win. Experienced skipper Mooney volleyed Walsall ahead on 29 minutes before capitalising on a defensive mix-up to make it 2-0 shortly after. And Millwall’s misery was compounded in first-half added time when defender Neil Harris put through his own net.
Saddlers team: Ince, Gerrard, Weston, Dann, Bradley (Sonko 61’), Taundry, Wrack, Deeney (Demontagnac 81’), Ricketts (Nicholls 46’), Sweeney, Mooney.
Subs not used: Bossu, Roper.


15th September 2007 – Millwall 1-2 Walsall – League One
Troy Deeney netted a late winner to lift Walsall off the bottom of League One. The Saddlers went ahead on 41 minutes when Daniel Fox converted Edrissa Sonko’s cross. Andrew Frampton’s hooked finish looked to have rescued Millwall a point, but Deeney poked home Sonko’s lofted centre to seal a dramatic win.
Saddlers team: Ince, Weston, Gerrard, Roper (Sonko 40’), Dann, Fox, Wrack, Hall (Demontagnac 54’ – Deeney 84’), Sonner, Boertien, Butler.
