ARROWSMITH ON THE FAST TRACK TO THE TOP

17 December 2015

Third fight in ten weeks for 19-year old...

REUBEN ARROWSMITH feels like he is on the fast track to success after being told that he will have his third fight in just ten weeks this Friday (December 18).

The Market Harborough stylist marked his professional debut with a points win over Kevin McCauley on October 10 before taking his slate to two victories by outboxing Victor Edagha on December 5.

But there is no rest for the wicked as trainer and promoter Ricky Hatton has done a deal for the 19-year-old to star on Black Country Boxing's 'Christmas Cracker' event at Walsall Football Club.

"It's great to be kept so active," Reuben said. "I only boxed two weeks ago, but I still had a lot left in the tank and I'm ready to go again.

"I'd box every week if I could. I know every fighter says that, but I mean it. I love being in the ring because I think boxing is what I was born to do.

"I want to step up a level every fight. People say there's a tough transition to make from the amateurs yet I've found it fairly easy. I'm a thinking fighter and the pros suit me better because the rounds are longer and I concentrate on picking my shots."

Arrowsmith will face the experienced William Warburton on Friday. The Atherton man has had more than 100 fights and has snapped the unbeaten records of ten prospects.

"Warburton is a dangerous opponent who always comes to fight," Reuben said. "He's been in with the best and he's shocked quite a few young fighters so I know I'll have to be at my best to beat him.

"He's the perfect opponent at this stage of my career because he's a challenge and that's what I want. I intend on putting on a great performance and taking my record to 3-0. It'll be the best way to celebrate Christmas."

The show also features Walsall's Luke Paddock, who takes on Plymouth's Chris Adaway for the British Super Lightweight Challenge Title. Halesowen's Lennox Clarke and Wednesbury's Sam Evans also feature.

Tickets are £60 an include a three-course meal. Contact the Walsall FC Ticket Office on 01922 651 414 for more information.
