INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL AT THE BANKS'S TONIGHT

INTERNATIONAL football returns to the Banks’s Stadium this evening, as England U17s host Turkey in the UEFA International Tournament.

The Young Lions defeated Italy 3-0 in the competition’s opening fixture on Wednesday, courtesy of an Adam Lewis screamer and two penalties from Sadou Diallo.

Victory gave new head coach, Steve Cooper, the perfect start to life in the U17s dugout, having stepped up an age group to replace John Peacock in the summer.

Cooper, a former academy manager at Liverpool, guided his talented young charges to silverware in the U16s Montiagu Tournament in April, and will be hoping for further progress this season.

Tickets for tonight’s match (kick-off 7.00pm) are priced at just £3 for adults and £1.50 for U16s. Fans can pay on the door.

Make sure you come on down and support the players of the future!
