Saddlers represented in New Balance Nottingham Cup...
OUR YOUNG Saddlers enjoyed Cup and Plate success in Nottingham last week as the club’s academy entered the New Balance Cup.
Hosted in the grounds of Nottingham University, the event is described as ‘Britain’s number one international football tournament’.
All age groups were represented with a number of teams bringing a cup or plate back to the West Midlands.
Our under 12’s side ran out 7-3 winners over Chesterfield in their final to get the tournament off to a winning start.
The under 13’s beat Academy Development (Plymouth) 3-1 to win the plate before the under 14’s made it a hat-trick of wins with a thumping 6-1 cup victory over Quorn in their final.
Our under 15 team recorded a 1-0 win over CTA Academy in their cup final with the under 16’s narrowly missed out in the final.
The club would like to thank all the parents for the efforts in arranging transport to the event for the players.
There was also a huge effort made by the coaches who gave up a week or their time to ensure the club were represented at the tournament.
