TEAM TALK - EASTER WEEKEND

2 April 2015

Boss hoping for a 'good' Friday and a 'happy' Monday...

WITH two games in as many days over the Easter weekend, this is an important period for us as we look to move up the League table.

We know that our goal tally should be higher; we've not been as clinical as we would have liked and we're well aware of where we are in the table right now, but at the same time, we know that if we perform to the levels we are capable of, we'll get results in these big games ahead.

There are some good players at this club and they will have learned a lot this season. It will stand us in good stead for the challenges ahead.

Performances are key to getting results. I always look back over the last six games as it gives a better reflection of where we're at. Our last two home displays, against MK Dons and Sheffield United, have been good, whilst we didn't deserve to lose last weekend at Chesterfield.

We've had a good week in preparation for these forthcoming games. We know that Notts County will come here and be well-organised under Paul Hart and Mick Halsall. Like ourselves, they will see this as three big points and will be determined to secure them.

Meanwhile looking ahead to Monday, Peterborough's results have improved recently and their confidence will be high going into the game.

Tom Bradshaw is still not ready to return to action and as such will sit out these two games, with a view to being back for the visit of Fleetwood next weekend. On a positive note, Rico Henry, who has signed a new deal this week, is back in full training, whilst Romaine Sawyers is back from International Duty and available again.

We've also recalled Kieron Morris from his loan spell at Wrexham. He learned a lot going there and scored some goals, so it is a chance for us to have a look at him here between now and the end of the season.

There are a number of players playing for the shirt and the competition can only be a good thing as it keeps everyone on their toes.

I thought that the support we received at Chesterfield was excellent and more of the same is going to be required in these Easter games.

May I wish all Walsall supporters and their families a very Happy Easter...
