Henry puts pen-to-paper on contract extension...

RISING star, Rico Henry, has today put-pen-to-paper on a contract extension which takes him through to the summer of 2017.

The talented teenager signed his first professional contract during the summer and has appeared ten times this term where his energy and ability in the left-back role has marked him out as one to watch in the future.

He dislocated his shoulder at Preston in February but is now on the comeback trail and is hoping to feature in the run-in to the end of the season.

“It’s pleasing for all concerned that Rico has signed this new deal,” said manager, Dean Smith. “He has a lot of potential and we know what a valuable asset he can be for us.

“We are delighted with the progress that he has making and whilst there is still a lot of development to go with him, it’s frightening how good he already is.”

Henry added: “I am very pleased to sign this contract extension. I think I have done well so far and given a good account of myself.

“I was disappointed to get the injury at Preston, but I am ready to get back into action now.

“This new deal gives me another year in which to continue making progress. I enjoy it here and know that I am in good hands.

“I just want to play in as many games as I can and see where it takes me.”
