Another win and pleasing display for youth team...

THE SADDLERS' youth team ran out worthy 3-1 winners against Burnley at the weekend.

"It was a very competitive game against well-organised and good opposition," said Academy Manager, Neil Woods. "We managed to get our noses in front on ten minutes when a corner was headed back across goal by Levi Rowley and Tevin Shakespeare was on hand to tap in from close range.

"As the first half went on it was very much an even game; we couldn't get control against organised opposition who went on to level matters ten minutes from the break from the penalty spot.

"Going in level at the interval, Burnley maybe edged possession, but we changed things around at the break and put in a very good second half display.

"We regained the lead when Luke Delaney chipped home and finished it off with a third goal when a neat move ended with the lively Romario Reid finding the net.

"It was a hard-fought encounter and a good game which required us to show different strengths and aspects of our game. We were worthy winners in the end following an impressive second half showing."

WALSALL: Jezeph, J. Smith, Lewis, Sangha, K. Rowley, Probert, Oliver (Reid), Delaney, Shakespeare, L. Rowley (Shorrock), Henry. Subs not used: R. Smith, Maddocks.
