Fine win for youth team...

THE SADDLERS' youth team bounced back from defeat in their previous game with a resounding 3-1 victory over Wigan Athletic.

"We started the game with an excellent tempo," said Academy Manager, Neil Woods. "It was the positive start that we were looking for as we attempted to right the wrongs of our previous game.

"We deservedly took the lead when Levi Rowley was alert to force an error and that is how the scoreline stayed going into the interval.

"The second period started with us still in good control of the game and we were able to double our advantage when Sam Ottley set up Romario Reid who made no mistake.

"It was soon 3-0 as Tevin Shakespeare was rewarded for his endeavours with a goal.

"Whilst we conceded a disappointing goal, it shouldn't mask what was a committed display with a high work ethic from all of the boys. They took on board everything that we told them and reacted extremely well."

WALSALL: Jezeph, Ottley, Lewis (R. Smith), Sangha, K. Rowley, Probert, Oliver (Reid), Delaney, Shakespeare, L. Rowley, Kouhyar. Subs not used: Maddocks, Pooni, Owen.
