Former Saddler passes away...

WE ARE sad to report the passing of former Walsall FC player, Tim Rawlings, at the age of 81.

He started his career with West Bromwich Albion, where he signed professional forms in March 1950, but having found his first-team opportunities limited at The Hawthorns, he joined The Saddlers in the summer of 1956.

Settling in quickly at Fellows Park, he was a tireless performer who helped the club achieve successive promotions in 1959/60 and 1960/61 on his way to 207 appearances in all competitions for the club.

In July 1963 he moved on to Port Vale having given Walsall sterling service and spent two years with The Valiants before retiring from the professional game.

The thoughts of everyone here at Banks’s Stadium are with his family and friends at this sad time.
