Saddlers come close to toppling League leaders...

THE SADDLERS gave unbeaten League leaders, Bristol City, as tough a test as they have had all season as we shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw.

"It was an excellent performance," he said. "We've had a very good team on the back-foot for the majority of the game out there and can be very pleased with our efforts.

"We've scored a great goal; the build-up and the strike was of the highest order and it's already a Goal of the Season contender in my opinion.

"Other than a spell in the opening ten or 15 minutes of the second half, I felt that we controlled the game and were unlucky not to get all three points in the end.

"We wanted to work the ball from side-to-side as we always felt that Bristol City would tire as the game went on and so it proved. We looked the stronger as the game went on and can be pleased of our display."
