SADDLERS SHORT-LISTED IN PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

Walsall FC short-listed in two categories alongside esteemed company...

WE ARE delighted to announce that Walsall FC has been short-listed in two categories in the prestigious Football Business Awards 2014, which take place at Chelsea FC in November.

These awards recognise good practice and the unsung heroes behind-the-scenes who help to shape the football industry. They celebrate success and reward innovation and we are extremely pleased to take our place amongst some esteemed company in the Best Football Club Hospitality and Sponsorship/Partnership of the Year categories.

With an illustrious judging panel, The Football Business Awards is a significant annual event in the footballing industry.

The Saddlers face competition from Premier League giants Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur for the Best Football Club Hospitality, whilst there are also some prominent national names in the Sponsorship/Partnership of the Year, for which we have been nominated for our link-up with HomeServe, which includes England School’s FA / Playstation (Circle Agency), EA SPORTS / Gareth Bale, Football Foundation / Barclays Spaces for Sport, ING / The Red Devils (Newworld), The Football League / Papa John's UK and Squawka / Continental Tyres.

“Naturally we are extremely proud and delighted to be short-listed for two awards,” said Walsall FC Chief Executive, Stefan Gamble. “It’s a real honour to be recognised in this way alongside some stellar names in the world of football.

“We’re one of very few clubs from our level to have been short-listed in any of the categories, so that gives us plenty of satisfaction in itself, but we are determined to now go on and win the awards.

“We’ve got a small, but extremely loyal and hard-working team of staff here who are totally committed to what we do and the product that we offer.

“We’re proud of the facilities that we have here and the quality of the matchday experience that we are able to offer to all supporters.

“Similarly we are keen to ensure that our main commercial partnerships are living-and-breathing sponsorships that go way beyond merely having a name on a shirt or advertising board and we certainly feel that we have achieved that already with HomeServe as we work closely together for mutual benefit.

“We are a club that never stands still; we are constantly evolving and seeking ways in which we can improve and enhance what we do, so to get this kind of recognition from our peers is a real boost for us and makes all the effort worthwhile.”
