Mantom back to boost The Saddlers...
THERE was a welcome sight at Crawley Town on Tuesday evening as Sam Mantom took his place on the substitutes' bench.Last year's Player of the Season entered the action during the closing stages and also got an hour under his belt for the reserves on Wednesday afternoon as he returns from a troublesome summer knee injury.
"To have Sam available for selection again is a big boost for us," said manager, Dean Smith. "He's had a few set-backs along the way, but we've taken a softly-softly approach with him recently and now we are delighted to see him back in action.
"He is a big player to have back. The good thing is that he did most of the pre-season work, so his fitness levels are not a problem, he just needs games to get his match sharpness back, but that will come.
"To have him back involved has given everyone a lift and with Tom Bradshaw also returning from a hamstring problem, it means that we go into Saturday's game with a clean bill of health for the first time in a long time."
