COOKING UP A STORM

7 October 2014

Jordan glad to be back in action...

IT WAS a welcome sight to see Jordan Cook back in action at the weekend.

The summer signing from Charlton Athletic picked up an ankle injury during our pre-season friendly clash at Torquay United in July and after plenty of hard work and determination since then, he is now ready to establish himself in the side.

"For me it's about getting minutes on the pitch," he admitted. "It was good to be back out there and involved on Saturday; to put in a performance like that against an in-form, unbeaten side was great for all of us.

"We have so much belief in ourselves. Even though we were a goal down at half-time on Saturday, we weren't going to change what we do and it's a credit to the lads that we came out and played as well as we did in the second half.

"Bristol City certainly knew that they were in a game and in the end we were maybe disappointed to come away with only one point to show for our efforts.

"That shows how far we have come and the equaliser was a great team goal. Rom certainly deserved it because he is a top, top player.

"Now I'm just looking forward to being back out there again and improving my sharpness and match fitness levels."
