Saddlers' supporter passes away...

WALSALL Football Club are saddened to hear of the passing of lifelong supporter, Stewart Staples.

The 57 year-old from Cannock was one of two men killed in a fireworks warehouse blaze in Stafford last week.

The devoted family man with a wife, three children and a young grandson, had attended Saddlers' game since childhood.

“Everybody at Walsall Football Club would like to express our deepest sadness and offer our condolences to Stewart’s family at this time,” said Club Secretary, Daniel Mole. “To lose a loved one in such tragic circumstances is beyond comprehension.

"As a mark of respect, an obituary will appear in Saturday’s matchday programme and Stewart’s family have been invited to the fixture as guests of the club.”
