Walsall FC takes runners-up spot in national Football Club Hospitality Award...
WALSALL FC has come runner-up in the Best Football Club Hospitality category of the Football Business Awards 2014, beating off some esteemed competition in the process.The annual Football Business Awards recognise good practice and the unsung heroes behind-the-scenes who help to shape the football industry.
The glittering ceremony took place at Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea Football Club, on Thursday evening.
Walsall FC were one of only a handful of Football League clubs shortlisted in two categories, including the Best Matchday Hospitality category where we came up alongside Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Tottenham and Aston Villa.
On the night we came in second-place to Chelsea, and was given a 'Mark of Excellence'.
The judges praised the fact that Walsall Football Club, as a whole from the Chairman to Receptionist, have adopted the ‘You Said, We Did’ approach to a fan’s experience on Matchday.
They also complimented us on meeting head-on the challenge of providing quality and value-for-money in a competitive environment by constantly seeking ways to provide a highly-tailored service and by treating all customers as individuals with their own needs, expectations and ideals.
“We’re delighted to have received such high praise and beaten off the challenge of some of the country's top football clubs to finish as runners-up,” said Walsall FC Chief Executive, Stefan Gamble. “We’re proud of the facilities that we have here and the quality of the matchday experience that we are able to offer to all supporters.
"This is a tremendous achievement for us and one that we are extremely proud of."
