Auctions end soon for you to play in the Club Legends Cup tournament this summer...

THE AUCTIONS for fans to take part in the first-ever Club Legends Cup indoor football tournament at the LG Arena on Saturday, July 12th are in full swing and creating plenty of interest.

Taking place the day before the FIFA World Cup Final, lucky supporters will have the chance to line up next to some great names from the past as two places from teams representing Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Coventry City, Walsall, The Rest of The World and a Celebrity/Media team will be available to the highest two bidders.

The auctions are running from up until midnight on ‘Club Legends Cup Deadline Day’, Saturday May 31st 2014. Fans can place their bids by going to and filling in the form on the homepage (all entrants must be aged 16 or over).

The lucky winners will be a part of the squad for the whole event, from the dressing room banter to the exclusive evening after party. They will have the unique opportunity to show their skills alongside the players they used to cheer from the stands and become Legends for one special day.

In addition, successful bidders will receive a signed souvenir shirt of their team, a feature on them in the official programme, a team photo and other exclusive benefits on the day.

All money raised from the auctions will go to Birmingham-based blood cancer charity, Cure Leukaemia.

Former Aston Villa and England midfielder and Saddlers' boss, Paul Merson, said: “It’s a brilliant idea. Just for the fans to be in the dressing room with their heroes of the past will be an unbelievable experience for them, let alone play alongside them! This is a fantastic opportunity for the fans.”

The Saddlers line-up will include Jorge Leitao, Pedro Matias and Zigor Aranalde who are flying over to the UK especially for the tournament.

Tickets for the event are priced at £10 for adults and £2 for under-16s (plus booking fees) and they are on sale now through the LG Arena or Ticket Factory websites.

Prior to the Club Legends Cup will be the FootieBugs Little Legends Cup featuring six regional kids teams and a Ladies Legends match between two top Midlands sides.

Away from the football there will be a host of fun activities around the concourse areas of the LG Arena making it a great day out for the whole family.
