Wide-man on our end to the 2013/14 season...

THE 2013/14 campaign ended in defeat for The Saddlers as our 1-0 home reverse at the hands of Colchester United saw us finish in 13th place.

"The last game pretty much summed up how things have gone in recent months," said James Baxendale. "We controlled the game but were unable to turn that into points on the board.

"It's not the ideal way to go into the summer, particularly as we lost to a freak goal.

"We peppered their goal with shots and they got in numerous blocks to keep us out. As I say, we dominated the majority of the game and played some good stuff along the way.

"We know that we've not scored enough goals this season and it has cost us.

"I firmly believe that we have enough about us as a team and a club to be in the top six. Opposition clubs do come here and bank up against us knowing that we have some good attacking players, but it is up to us to be able to break it down and get the rewards that we deserve."
