Ever-present 'keeper named Players' Player of the Season...

RECOGNITION from your peers is always important and ever-present goalkeeper, Richard O'Donnell, was delighted to pick up the Players' Player of the Season honour.

The talented custodian, who has been one of the real success stories of the season, beat off the challenge of midfielders, Sam Mantom and Adam Chambers, to take the prize.

"I'm over the moon to win this award," he said. "Looking back, it has been a brilliant season for me.

"When I first arrived here I wanted to play as many games  as I could and show people what I was capable of. To be ever-present is fantastic and I am delighted with the progress that I have made.

"Neil Cutler [Goalkeeping Coach] has been tremendous and I owe a lot to him. He has helped me improve so much and we have built up a good working relationship.

"I'm really looking forward to building on this next season."

O'Donnell was presented with his award by skipper, Andy Butler, who was also wholesome in his praise for the impact that the former Sheffield Wednesday man made during 2013/14.
