Boss ready for local derby...

IT WAS nice to see us get back into winning ways on Tuesday evening at Bradford City, especially as it came on the back of an impressive performance.

We were able to follow up our previous two displays to get the right result and make it four games without defeat.

The lads have always been positive and they know that we have to maintain these standards for our remaining games, starting with the visit of Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

They have picked up some good results in their last three games and will be a tough proposition for us. Defensively they have been well-organised under their new managerial team and it has given the, a chance to get our of the relegation zone.

We will need to show creativity and inventiveness to open them up, and I am confident in our ability to be able to do that.

This game also has the added spice of it being a local derby, so we are expecting an entertaining encounter between two teams who are desperate for the points.

After every round of games the picture is changing with regards to the League table; everyone is still fighting for something and we are looking to give a good account of ourselves and see where it takes us.

We are challenging the players to get better all of the time and I am sure that they will be giving their all for the final run-in.

Milan Lalkovic will be assessed in the lead up to the game. He was forced off at half-time in the last game with a tight hamstring, so we won't risk him if there is any doubt as we don't want to lose him for more games. The decision will be made in the best interests of the team and the player.
