TEAM TALK v ROTHERHAM, 15/3/14

13 March 2014

Boss on Millers' trip...

LOOKING back at Tuesday evening's draw with Crewe Alexandra, trailing with two minutes to go it has to be looked upon as a point gained and a point closer to the team in sixth place.

I felt that we could have done better in the final third; we had a lot of possession but we didn't move the ball as quickly as we wanted.

We'll keep working on our performances and we know the areas in which we need to improve.

Now we prepare for the challenge that Rotherham United will present to us. They have got some good players who have taken their momentum from last season, when they gained promotion out of League Two, into this term.

They have continued to grind out results and we know that it will be a tough one for us. Steve Evans' side will be full of energy, they won't sit back and will be hard-working That said, it's a new venue for us and we're looking forward to it.

If we keep putting in the performances, the results will start to follow again. Things can change quickly and there are still plenty of points to be won and challenges ahead for us.

The next game is always the most important one, though, and we'll be doing everything possible to maintain our challenge for a place in the top six.

We've got a lot of young players here who are in their first full season and tiredness can come into it and be a factor, but the base is there and definite progress has been made from this time last year.
