TAYLOR GLAD TO BE BACK

11 March 2014

Full-back determined to push on after Saturday set-back...

FULL-back, Andy Taylor, returned to action at the weekend having been ruled out since the middle of January with a knee injury.

The 27 year-old is now looking forward to being involved in the run-in to the end of the season as we chase a place in the top six.

“The knee feels fine,” he said. “It was a brilliant game to come back into because there was a great atmosphere out there and these are the type of occasions that you want to be involved in.

“It’s good to be back; it’s been frustrating being sidelined but I will be better for getting that 90 minutes under my belt and now I want to really push on from here and help us get back into winning ways again.

“Every game is important now and it’s about staying positive because there are still plenty of points up for grabs.

“The play-offs are still well within  reach but we know that we have to start building some momentum, and that means getting the three points tonight.

“I felt that the scoreline flattered Wolves on Saturday. Performance-wise we felt quite good; we were never really under the cosh, but they are top of the table for a reason and were more clinical than us.

“They took their chances, but the good thing about football is that there is always an opportunity around the corner to put things right.

“We’ve analysed the last game and now we are ready and determined for the challenge that lies ahead tonight.

“Crewe need the points to pull them away from the lower reaches of the table. Like us, they try to play the game the right way, so it has all the ingredients to be an entertaining encounter, one that we are looking forward to.”
