SMITH REFLECTS

Boss on home defeat...

SADDLERS' boss, Dean Smith, has reflected upon our 3-0 home reverse at the hands of Wolves.

"The scoreline was harsh on us," he said. "We didn't deserve to lose 3-0, but it shows the quality that Wolves have.

"I felt that we more than matched them, the difference was in the penalty areas.

"It was a freak second goal for them early in the second half, but the pleasing thing for me was that my players kept going and didn't let their heads drop.

"We had a couple of chances after that with headers from Febian Brandy and, to be fair, we played some decent football at times.

"We kept trying to do the right things and Troy Hewitt came into the side and led the line well.

"I've got a squad of players here who are capable of dealing with this busy schedule and we will be ready to go again on Tuesday evening for the visit of Crewe Alexandra.

"That one becomes a massive game for us now and it is important that we go out there and get a result."
