SADDLERS SUPPORT NO SMOKING DAY

12 March 2014

Walsall FC back anti-smoking campaign...

TODAY is National No Smoking Day and, as a football club, we are happy to support the venture.

Smokers across Walsall are being urged to prepare for battle and to get ready to beat their addiction once and for all.

The rallying cry comes from the stop smoking experts at the Kaleidoscope Plus Group and North 51.

The theme is ‘V for Victory’ and it’s set to inspire thousands of smokers across the borough to win the fight against cigarettes

To find out more about this free NHS service, which is available to people who live or work across Walsall, text ‘smokefree’ to 66777 or call for free on  0800 622 6968 to make an appointment.

No Smoking Day is in its 31st campaign year and remains the UK’s foremost public health event, with over one million people making a quit attempt every year. Smokers are using the day more than ever as their day to try to stop smoking.

At last night's home game against Crewe Alexandra, Saddlers' players warmed up in No Smoking t-shirts and there was coverage in the Matchday Programme, online and via stadium PA announcements.
