O'DONNELL MAINTAINS HIGH STANDARDS

21 March 2014

'Keeper convinced wins are just around the corner...

EVER-present Richard O'Donnell is looking for us to build on our performance in our last game as we play host to high-flying Leyton Orient on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

"The performance at Rotherham last weekend was good," he said. "This has been the case in most of our recent games even though we haven't necessarily had the results that we deserve.

"We've had a few things go against us, but we will certainly take heart from our display in the last game and take it into Saturday.

"Even when we went down to ten men I felt that we were comfortable and defensively we were solid again. It was just unfortunate that they were able to snatch a late equaliser with a deflected effort.

"That said, it's time for us to get back into winning ways and what better way to start than on home soil against a side who have been up there all season.

"It's a big game for both clubs and one that we're looking forward to.

"I'm convinced that if we can maintain the performances levels that we have been showing, it won't be long before the results start to come again.

"The confidence is high amongst the lads and this has always been the case. We will move forward together and hopefully end the season on a real high."

Summer signing O'Donnell has established himself as the first choice between the posts this term with some reliable and impressive displays.

"I'm delighted to have played in every game," he added proudly. "It's been a very good season for me personally and it's nice to know that I am going to be playing regularly.

"I'm also aware that there are people waiting to step in should I let my standards drop, so it's about continuing to work hard in training and stay focussed.

"Luckily I have the right people around me to help me do that and I'd like to think that I can continue doing the business for the rest of the season and beyond.

"As a team we try to do the right things and the majority of the time this season it has worked for us. With the supporters behind us we can be a force and create a really positive vibe around the place.

"The backing that we have received from the fans has been great and much appreciated by the players. Now we just need one big final push."
