Baxendale ready for run-in...

JAMES Baxendale returned to the starting line-up at the weekend and helped us make it five games unbeaten with victory over Shrewsbury Town.

"At this stage of the season everyone is using the word momentum," he said. "We're five games unbeaten now and won two games in a week, so that's good momentum for us and it breeds confidence for the remaining games as we enter the final month of the season.

"All we can do is concentrate on ourselves and what we do. We can't control what happens elsewhere, but on Saturday I felt that we were the better team throughout even if the tempo was slightly slower than we would have liked due to the heat.

"It was a deserved win and now the focus turns to adding to our points tally in our next game. We're going to give it a go; Peterborough have games in hand over us, but they've got to win them and we're ready to take advantage if they don't.

"We've got a tight group here with good competition for places. The lads really push each other on in training and everyone has a good attitude.

"We have players waiting in the wings to step in and do a job. I've been in that situation myself and as a group we are determined and feel that we can beat anyone at this level, which we have proved.

"There are real driven characters in the dressing room who believe in what we are doing. These are exciting times for us and if we can get into the play-offs, we'll have the momentum to take us through."
