Emerging striker heads to Barwell...

EMERGING front-man, Danny Griffiths, has linked up Barwell on loan for a month.

He becomes the second player from our Development group to join the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division club following Matt Preston’s switch last week.

A regular on the scoresheet for the youth team whilst coming through the ranks, he signed his first professional contract during the summer.

Griffiths enjoyed a fruitful spell on loan at Chasetown earlier this term.

“It will be good to get out and be involved in some competitive action,” he said. “My loan move to Chasetown really helped me earlier in the season and this is a step up in standard, so I am looking forward to testing myself.

“It’s going to be physical but that is exactly what I need right now as I continue my development in the game.

“Matt Preston has said a lot of good things about the club, so it all bodes well for me.

“I feel that I have really made progress this season and that is thanks to the work I have done with Richard O’Kelly and Dean Holden. It’s been hard work, and I have spent a lot of time in the gym, but I have a determination to succeed here and this loan move is all part of that process.

“I’ll go there looking to give it my all and help the team. I want to play as often as I can and get my name on the scoresheet so that I can really push on.”
