Smith on good performance against The Millers...

SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, saw plenty of positives as we shared the spoils with Rotherham United.

“It was a really good performance, just what we are about,” he said. “A cruel deflection for their last minute equaliser denied us what would have been a deserved win.

“It was a more spirited performance from us. I thought we were excellent in the first half and outplayed them for the majority. We had to defend a lot of balls into our box after the break, but we did it well.

“The red card for Ben Purkiss was harsh, but I am proud of my players; we came to a side in good form and showed character. There were a lot of tired legs out there as we gave our all.

“It was an improvement from Tuesday’s display and that is the style of play that we want to be associated with.

“We have another tough one next week but we’ll take the positives from this one into that game.

“It’s two games unbeaten for us now, so we press on from here.”
