Smith delight at Chambers' new deal...
SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, was delighted to secure the signature of James Chambers for another year earlier today as his hard work to strengthen the playing staff continues.“I’m really pleased that James has decided to sign this new contract,” he said. “He is an integral member of the squad here and has proved his versatility by playing in both full-back roles as well as in the centre of defence during the course of last season.
“He gives us options and strong competition in certain areas, so that can only be a good thing.
“He’s a great character to have around the place and a fantastic influence and role-model for the younger lads.
“I expect another big season from him.
“Our efforts to secure new faces are ongoing with Richard O’Kelly, Neil Cutler and I working extremely hard behind-the-scenes over the past few weeks.
“We have identified a number of targets and spoken to various agents, so hopefully we’ll be able to announce some positive news in the not too distant future. It’s a case of watch this space.”
