THE SADDLERS have played out a goalless draw with Wigan Athletic on a warm afternoon in Lancashire.Walsall played some neat football throughout this game, which was played in three 30-minute periods.
“It was a competitive game,” said manager, Dean Smith. “The conditions were tough but we got a lot out of it.
“We played well with and without the ball against good quality opposition.
“I’m pleased with where the lads are at right now; some of them had 30 minutes and others had an hour, so it was a useful work-out for us.”
