Front-man notches 11th goal of the season...

CRAIG Westcarr claimed his 11th goal of the season at the weekend as we shared the spoils with Brentford, however, the top scorer believes that we deserved to beat the high-flying Bees.

Brentford went into the game on the back of eight straight victories, but were given a thorough examination by The Saddlers.

"We were excellent," said Westcarr without hesitation. "We played some good stuff and created chances, whilst at the other end, Richard O'Donnell has not really had many saves to make.

"With that in mind, we are disappointed not to have secured all three points.

"We never really thought about the run that Brentford were on going into the game; we geared ourselves to what we wanted to do and I felt that we put in a good performance.

"It was nice to get my name on the scoresheet. There is a good understanding between the attacking players; we know each others' strengths and we've done well in the past couple of games.

"We deserve to be in this position and we know that we have to keep doing the right things and adding to our points tally.

"Every game is tough and the next one at my former club, Notts County, will be just as tricky as Saturday. That said, we're a top team who are playing with confidence and if we're on our game, we can be more than a match for anyone."
