Boss ready for Robins...

Looking back at Saturday’s 5-1 victory at Notts County, we were, quite simply, outstanding.

We played some great football at times and thoroughly deserved to win so convincingly.

It was an excellent team performance with everyone playing their part; the two central midfielders gave us a platform, Febian was clinical and Mal Benning slotted back into the team extremely well. Then we had the likes of Ben Purkiss and Nicky Featherstone who came on and slotted in well.

Some of our attacking play was superb and to go away to a team who were in good recent form and create so many opportunities is a real achievement.

We coped well with the conditions and it was a good day for us. The important thing now, though, is to follow this up tonight against another good side.

We will require the ruthlessness and hunger that we displayed at the weekend if we are to further extend our unbeaten run this evening against a side who are on the fringes of the top six.

These type of runs are important at this stage of the season. It’s a big week for us to really push on and add to our points tally.

Our performance in the last game here against Brentford gave us plenty of belief. We showed many qualities against a side who were in a fantastic run of form; we were resolute when we had to be and then took the game to them after the break and were the better side for long periods.

The backing that we received at Meadow Lane was excellent and I am delighted that we were able to send you home happy. More of the same support is required tonight.

It’s about what we do and we’ll go into the game as well prepared and ready as ever.
