Boss looking forward to home return...
IT'S good to be back on home soil this evening as we face the first of two home games this week with the visit of Oldham Athletic. In Lee Johnson they have a young, up-and-coming manager who has a determination to drive the club forward.
They will come here full of energy and prepared to work hard for each other, qualities that we will have to match if we are to get the result that we crave.
We go into the game on the back of a draw at Tranmere on Saturday. After our first half performance, we should have been out of sight. We didn’t keep the ball well enough after the break and made some poor decisions.
We were good in the first half and, credit to Tranmere, they were good in the second half, so maybe a point was a fair result in the end.
I felt that we played some really good football during the opening period and deservedly took the lead with a great finish from Milan.
We had a number of chances after that but we couldn’t add to our lead. Had we managed to do that it would have been game over.
We move on now; there are two tough home games coming up this week, starting tonight, and if we can get positive results out of them, it will make this a good point.
Thank you for the excellent backing that we received at Prenton Park on Saturday. I look forward to more of the same this evening.
