Boss ready for the latest challenge...
LAST Saturday's performance against Brentford gives us plenty of belief. We showed many qualities against a good side who had been on a fantastic run.We were resolute and held them out when we had to and then after the break we took the game to them and were the better side for long periods.
It extends our unbeaten run and at this stage of the season, these type of runs are important.
With three games coming up during the week ahead, it gives us the opportunity to really push on and add to our points tally.
The first test comes against a Notts County outfit who are a decent team. They have some good players and will be very well-organised.
Shaun Derry has gone in there with Greg Abbott and they are starting to turn their fortunes around.
That said, it's always about what we do and we'll be making sure that we go into the game as well prepared as ever and in the right frame of mind.
There is a need for us to start turning some of the draws into wins. It's fair to say that we haven't always turned our superiority into points, but at the same time, we are well positioned and given ourselves a real chance. This is an opportunity for the players to really take things forward.
As i say, it's a big week with the games coming thick and fast, but we can't look too far ahead. I know it's a cliche but we have to take each game as it comes, starting with Saturday's trip to Meadow Lane.
I would like to think that we will have a large and vocal following to really get behind us as has been the case throughout the season so far.
