Boss ready for League leaders...

WE GO into the game on the back of a big three points against Oldham Athletic on Tuesday evening.

The victory took us into the top six as we overcame tricky opposition in what was a good game of football. The performance was okay; we got the all-important goal to grind out the victory.

Maybe a draw would have been a fair result, but we felt that we deserved to win at both Gillingham and Tranmere recently and only came away with a draw, so we'll take the points.

Now we prepare for the visit of Brentford. We've been racking up the points but not at the speed of our opponents who have been on a fantastic run of form.

They've got some really good players but it is one that we are all really looking forward to.

It has all the ingredients to be a cracking game and a chance for us to see how far we have come against the League leaders.

We have a decent record against all of the current top six, apart from Preston North End, so hopefully that will continue.

We have a confidence in our own ability in that we know what we can do and what we have to do. Brentford are there to be shot at and we will be well prepared for the threats that they possess.

Mark Warburton has done a fantastic job since taking over at the helm. He was part of Uwe Rosler's backroom staff, so he knows the players and what they are capable of.

It will mean a return to Banks's Stadium for Will Grigg. I've still got a lot of time for him. He's a terrific, level-headed lad who worked hard at his game when he was with us and did well for me last season.

It was his personal choice to leave during the summer and we wish him well, but obviously not on Saturday!
